Daily Itinerary
Day 1 Depart USA
Depart on your international overnight flight to France.
Day 2 Arrive in France / Lourdes
Upon arrival in France, your guide will greet you at the airport and escort you to Lourdes. View a video presentation of the story of Lourdes. Celebrate Mass in one of the chapels here at the Sanctuary. Check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight. While in Lourdes, you will have the opportunity to participate in the afternoon processional and the evening candlelight processional.
Day 3 Lourdes
Today you will celebrate Mass in one of the chapels here at the Sanctuary. Then enjoy a walking tour of the Sanctuary grounds and then to the homes of Bernadette and her family. Included in the sites seen are the Boly Mill (St. Bernadette’s Birthplace) and the Cachot (The family home during the time of the appearances). Also, see the parish church where St. Bernadette was baptized.
Day 4 Lourdes
This morning, participate in “The Footsteps of St. Bernadette” with a visit to the village of Bartres, childhood home of the Saint and her family. Return to visit the shrine area and tour the three basilicas. Celebrate Mass in one of the chapels here at the Sanctuary.
Day 5 Flight of Santiago de Compostela
This morning transfer to the airport for your flights to Santiago de Compostela – Arrive this afternoon and travel to the Cathedral for a pilgrim’s Mass. Check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 Santiago de Compostela
Those that wish to walk the final 10 kilometers (a little over six miles) of the Camino to the end of the Way of St. James at Santiago de Compostela will be transferred to the town of Labacolla. Once back in Santiago, you will meet up with your fellow pilgrims to visit the Cathedral and Baroque Abbey of San Martin Pinario. You’ll visit the apostle’s tomb in the Cathedral and those who walked will receive the pilgrim’s parchment for your 10 Km Walk.
Day 7 Travel to Fatima
This morning you will cross into Portugal to Fatima. Arrive in Fatima this afternoon where you will check in to our hotel. Time permitting, celebrate Mass in one of the chapels at the Sanctuary of Fatima complex. There is an opportunity to participate in the candlelight processional while in Fatima.
Day 8 Fatima
Today you will celebrate Mass and then visit the Basilica where the three children (Lucia lived to adulthood) are interred. You will then journey to the countryside where Mary appeared to Francisco and Jacinta Marto and their cousin Lucia dos Santos from May 13th, every month until August 19th, 1917, when she appeared at Valinhos. You will see their homes nearby, where Francisco died (Jacinta died in a Lisbon hospital) in 1919 and 1920. Return to Fatima for time to pray and contemplate the meaning of the Holy Site.
Day 9 Return to USA
Transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
