Day 2 January 17 – Arrive in Cairo
Today, you arrive in Cairo. You are welcomed by your Guide and Bus Driver. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Stay overnight in Cairo.
Day 3 January 18 – Egypt Museum/Pyramids/Sphinx
Today, we visit the Egyptian Museum to admire the treasures of King Tutankhamen. We will also stop at the Great Pyramids of Giza and see the amazing Sphinx. Time for shopping before enjoying a Nile River Cruise. Stay overnight in Cairo.
Day 4 January 19 – Cairo / St. Catherine’s
On our way to Sinai Peninsula, we drive to St. Catherine’s for overnight. Stay overnight in Sharm el-Sheikh.
Day 5 January 20 – Mt. Sinai Climb / Burning Bush / Taba
Transfer to Taba for overnight stay. Begin your day with an early morning climb up Mt. Sinai. Visit the burning bush before your drive to Taba, a beautiful resort on the Red Sea for overnight. Stay overnight in Taba.
Day 6 January 21 - Border Crossing into Israel / Dead Sea/ Jordan River / Jericho / Masada
This morning, we depart Egypt and cross the border into Israel. We stop by the Dead Sea to feel the salty water, and stop at the baptismal site on the river Jordan. In Jericho, we will view the Mount of Temptation, the ruins of Old Jericho. We continue to Masada and take the cable car up to the mountain and see the remains of the Jewish community who committed suicide rather than surrender to the Romans. Stay overnight in Bethlehem.
Day 7 January 22 – Mt of Olives / Gethsemane / Bethlehem / Ein Karem
We start our day at the Mount of Olives, then see the Church of Pater Noster, down to Dominus Flevit and St. Mary Magdelene Church, and the Garden of Gethsemane. In Bethlehem, visit the church of the Nativity, the Holy Manger, the Basilica of St. Catherine, the Milk Grotto and then to Shepherds’ Field. On the way back to Jerusalem, we stop in Ein Karem to visit the Church of the Visitation. Stay overnight in Bethlehem.
Day 8 January 23 – Jerusalem / Old City / Mt Zion
This morning, transfer to the Old City to walk the Way of the Cross as a group from the first station until we enter the church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit Golgotha and the empty tomb of Our Lord. Back to the hotel for breakfast and then return to the Old City to walk through the Cardo to the Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock. On Mount Zion, we visit the room of the Last Supper, the House of Caiaphas and the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu. Stay overnight in Bethlehem.
Day 9 January 24 – Jerusalem/Old Jaffa/Haifa/Mount Carmel/Nazareth
Today, we visit the Old Jaffa to visit the walled city and see the Church of St. Peter. We will also enjoy a panoramic tour of Tel Aviv. Afterward we continue to Caesarea and then to Haifa and Mount Carmel to visit the Carmelite monastery and the Church of the Prophet Elijah. Then to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation, the Holy Grotto and the Church of St. Joseph. Stay overnight in Tiberias
Day 10 January 25 - Nazareth/Mount Tabor/ Cana/Galilee/Capernaum/ Mount of Beatitudes
We drive to Mount Tabor to visit the Church of the Transfiguration. Then, we stop in Cana, the tradition site where Jesus performed his first public Miracle. Next, we will explore the sites along the Sea of Galilee. Jesus spend a lot of time in this region teaching and performing miracles. Visit Capernaum, where Jesus preached in the synagogue, St. Peter’s House, Mount of Beautitudes and Tabgha, where Jesus Multiplied the loaves of bread and fish. We will also enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee depending on the weather. Stay overnight in Tiberias
Day 11 January 26 – Morning border Crossing into Jordan, Jerash and Aljoun
This morning, we cross the border into Jordan. We drive to Jerash, one of the best preserved Roman cities with its triumphal arch, colonnaded streets, temples, ampitheather and church. Then to Aljoun, noted for its impressive ruins of the 12th-century Aljoun Castle, and believed to be the birthplace of the prophet Elijah. Stay overnight in Amman
Day 12 January 27 – Petra
Our day will take us to the amazing Petra. As we arrive, we walk through the narrow “Siq” and see water channels carved from the rock. Then, the imposing treasury and later ruins of amphitheaters, tombs and houses. Stay overnight in Amman
Day 13 January 28 – Madaba/Mt. Nebo
We drive to Madaba to visit the church famous for its mosaic floor showing the Holy Land from the 6th century. Then, we travel to Mount Nebo to visit the church and the place where Moses saw the promised land. After dinner, we will transfer to the airport for our flight. Depart for your night flight home. Stay overnight in Amman
