Day 3 March 24 – Caesarea, Megiddo, Mount Carmel

Visit the Roman Aqueduct and Theatre at Caesarea, a center of early Christianity (Acts 10) and where Paul was imprisoned for two years (Acts 23: 22). View Mount Carmel and recall Elijah’s dramatic victory over the prophets of Baal (I Kings 18). Follow an ancient caravan route through the Jezreel Valley to Tel Megiddo, an exciting archeological dig with layers of twenty different cities all built on top of each other. Conclude your day in Nazareth Village, Jesus’ boyhood home (Luke 26).

Day 4 March 25 – The Galilee

In Magdala, once home to Mary Magdalene (Luke 8:1-3), visit a recently discovered first-century synagogue. Enjoy lunch together before crossing the waters of the Sea of Galilee on a very special boat ride, complete with an onboard worship service. Visit Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee, and visit the synagogue built on the site where Jesus taught (Matt. 4:13, 23). On the Mount of Beatitudes, contemplate the text of the Sermon on the Mount that Jesus preached there (Matt. 5-7). Remember your baptism at the Yardenit Baptismal site, where the Jordan River exits the Sea of Galilee on its journey southward (Matt. 3).

Day 5 March 26 – The Galilee to Jerusalem

Travel to Beit Shean, a city continuously inhabited for over 5,000 years. Here, Saul and his sons’ bodies were hung from the walls of the city (1 Samuel 31). The ruins uncovered date back to the Greek / Roman city that was part of the Decapolis of Jesus’ day. See colonnaded streets with marble sidewalks, Roman public baths, and a theater. Stop in Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1947 by a Bedouin shepherd. In Bethlehem, gaze out over Shepherds’ Field and visit the cave revered as Jesus’ birthplace (Matt. 1: 18-25). Visit the Church of the Nativity, built above the cave and considered the world’s oldest functioning church (Matt. 1: 18-25).

Day 6 March 27 – Jerusalem

Walk the museum and grounds of Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial, with its poignant exhibits honoring the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust. Stand on the Mount of Olives for a remarkable view of Jerusalem (the Golden City); Jesus stood here before ascending into heaven forty days after His resurrection (Acts 1:9-12). In the Kidron Valley across from the walls of Jerusalem, pray as Jesus did in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matt. 26:36). Continue to Mount Zion to visit the House of the High Priest Caiaphas, where Jesus was questioned the night of His betrayal (Matt. 26:57).

Day 7 March 28 – Jerusalem (The Old City)

Begin your day entering through the Jaffa Gate and walking around the Old City through the Ramparts Walk. View the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus performed the Sabbath miracle (John 5: 1 -31). Walk the Via Dolorosa, “the Way of the Cross,” and see the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Drive by the new location of the U.S. Embassy before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 March 29 – Jerusalem

Outside of the city walls, visit the City of David, the Pool of Siloam. Walk through the Jewish Quarter before enjoying free time for shopping, relaxation time, and lunch in the Old City. We’ll visit the Southern Steps of the Temple and then continue to walk to the holiest site in the entire Jewish world, the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) of Herod’s temple. Afterward, we continue to the Old City as we will walk the Rabbi’s Tunnel, a section of the ancient retaining wall of the Temple Mount platform that houses secrets behind its huge thousands-of-years-old stones.

Day 9 March 30 – Judean Desert

Pass through the Judean Wilderness paralleling the ancient Roman road to view the Valley of the Shadow. Visit Jericho, the famed city that was long ago defeated by Joshua. Saddle up for a camel ride before departing the Desert. We continue south along the western shore of the Dead Sea, we will stop at Ein Gedi where David hid from King Saul. Take a dip in the salt and mineral-laden waters of the Dead Sea. Enjoy the Sound and Light Show at David’s Citadel before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10 March 31 – Sifting Project, Israel Museum, Garden Tomb & Overnight Flight Home

Spend your morning at the Temple Mount, sifting through its ancient foundation looking for artifacts. Explore the Israel Museum and its First Century Model of the City of Jerusalem.
