This afternoon, arrive in Cairo and transfer to the hotel for your dinner and overnight.
Day 3 The Pyramids of Giza & Great Sphinx
Today, visit the famous Pyramids of Giza, constructed over 1,000 years before the birth of Moses. See the Great Sphinx and have the opportunity to ride a camel in the desert near the Pyramids.
Day 4 Egyptian Museum and Khan El-Khalili Bazaar
This morning, your Egyptologist will escort you on a tour of 7,000 years of Egyptian history with a visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which includes the world-famous golden treasures from King Tutankhamun‘s tomb. Continue your visit to Khan El-Khalili bazaar, where you can stroll through the bustling Khan El-Khalili bazaar. Founded in the 14th century as a watering stop for caravans, it is now reputedly the largest bazaar in the Middle East.
Day 5 Alexandria
This morning, trek to Alexandria, a port city located on the Mediterranean Sea founded in 331 BCE by Alexander the Great. Visit the catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, this is a historical archaeological site considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. Continue to Pompey’s Pillar. this 4th-century, Roman triumphal column was hewn from red Aswan granite. In the Montazah Gardens, Alexandria’s most beautiful green space, visit the Montaza Palace and Citadel of Qaitbay, one of the most important defensive strongholds in ancient Egypt.
Day 6 Cairo
This morning, visit the Citadel of Saladin, home to the rulers of Egypt for over 700 years. Nearby, visit the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Next, journey to St. Virgin Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church, also known as The Hanging Church, built in the 3rd century above an old Roman fortress. Nearby, see the famous Babylon fortress.
Day 7 Return Home
This morning, transfer to the Cairo Airport for your return flight home.
