Arrive Rome. Free Day. Welcome Dinner at the Hotel. (D)

Day 3 September 8, 2021 - Rome

Guided Tour of Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel and inside visit of St Peter’s Basilica. In the afternoon drive to the Colosseum for an inside visit and top view of the Roman Forum. Return to the hotel and rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Dinner ON OWN. (B)

Day 4 September 9, 2021 - Rome

Take a relaxing excursion to Tivoli and travel through the beautiful countryside surrounding the busy capital.Your first stop will be the evocative ruins of the famous villa built by Emperor Hadrian -Villa Adriana ruins Your journey into the past will continue to the magnificent Villa d’Este at Tivoli, one of the most beautiful residences of the late Renaissance. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is a masterpiece of Italian architecture and especially garden design, inspired by Hadrian’s Villa. After some free time in the historical center of Tivoli town, return to the hotel and rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Dinner ON OWN. (B)

Day 5 September 10, 2021 - Assisi

Travel to Assisi and upon arrival enjoy a guided walking tour of the town, including an inside visit of St. Francis Basilica. Check in to the hotel in Assisi for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 6 September 11, 2021 - Florence

Travel to Tuscany and on the way to Florence stop to visit the Medieval towns of Siena (guided tour and free time for lunch), and San Gimignano , then continue the journey to Florence. Check in for 3 nights at the hotel in Florence. Tuscan Dinner at a Local Restaurant. (B,D)

Day 7 September 12, 2021 - Florence

Guided Tour of Florence including walking tour to Piazza della Signoria; Santa Maria del Fiore; Santa Croce Square. Rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Dinner ON OWN. (B)

Day 8 September 13, 2021 - Florence

Day trip from Florence to visit the Towns of Pisa and Lucca. Return to the hotel and rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Dinner ON OWN. (B)

Day 9 September 14, 2021 - Rome

Travel to Rome. Free afternoon. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant in Rome (Meo Patacca style). (B,D)

Sept. 15 - Castel Gandolfo, Sorrento
Travel to Castel Gandolfo, the Pope’s summer residence. The Romans
also preferred this area in the summer to get out of the heat. Enjoy the
incredible beauty of this region as your bus travels to Sorrento. You will
be in awe of the dramatic cliff-top drive that leads to your hotel. During
your three night stay, you’ll have time to discover the colorful ambiance
of this delightful town and enjoy the view of Mt. Vesuvius.
Sept. 16 - Amalfi Coast, Positano
The Amalfi Coast is considered to be one of Italy’s finest! You will be
enchanted by the rich hues of the blue green sea, the tiny mystical
islands and the pastel colored cottages gathered round tiny harbors.
Have your camera ready to capture one breathtaking view after
another. Snap a photo of the famous village of Positano which has
graced a thousand postcards and charmed at least three generations
of travelers. Visit the town of Amalfi, a must for every visitor. A glorious
maritime republic from the 9th to 12th centuries, the town is also
famous as the place where the compass was invented and boasts a
splendid Duomo in Arab-Norman style. Time permitting, you’ll stop at
the village of Vietri Sul Mar, home of Amalfi Coast ceramic factories
which produce the colorful tiles that decorate every church tower in
the area.
Sept. 17 - Isle of Capri
Enjoy a boat ride to the lovely Isle of Capri which has enticed visitors
for thousands of years. Today you will have the opportunity to savor its
beauty and be captivated with the fabulous views and elegant shops.
Sept. 18 - Pompeii, Rome
You will visit the spectacular ruins in Pompeii which were covered by
the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. The city remained buried and
undiscovered for almost 1500 years until excavation began in 1748.
These excavations continue today and provide insight into life during
the Roman Empire. Continue to the Rome area for dinner and overnight.
Sept. 19 - Return to the USA with wonderful memories to share!
