Day 2 Jan 12 Arrive in Amman (overnight in Amman)
You’ll be met and transferred to the hotel for dinner and overnight. (D)
Day 3 Jan 13 Jerash / City tour of Amman (overnight in Amman)
This morning you will journey to Jerash, one of the best preserved Roman cities in the world. Stroll through the oval piazza and wander along colonnaded streets etched by the wheels of ancient chariots. Stand in the grand theatre where an onstage whisper can be heard in the top row. Explore the city of Amman, known as Philadelphia in Roman times -- one of the ten cities of the Decapolis, and before that, as Rabbath Ammon. Visit the Citadel Museum, whose exhibits include artifacts from prehistoric times until the 15th century AD, including a bronze Dead Sea scroll in Aramaic. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 4 Jan 14 Madaba / Bethany Beyond Jordan / Mount Nebo (overnight in Dead Sea)
Travel to Madaba, the City of Mosaics, to visit the Church of Saint George with its sixth-century, Byzantine, mosaic map showing Jerusalem and other holy sites. Stop at Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the traditional place where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. Several baptismal pools dating back to Byzantine times can be seen here. Continue to Mount Nebo, where Moses caught a glimpse of the Promised Land (Deut. 34). On a clear day, you can see all the way across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, to the rooftops of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Check into your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 5 Jan 15 Machaerus / Karak Castle Fortress / to Petra (Overnight in Petra)
Start the day at the fortress of Machaerus, where tradition says that John the Baptist was beheaded (Mark 6:17-28). Travel to Karak, a masterpiece of Crusader architecture. The fort, high atop a promontory, is a maze of stone vaulted halls and endless passageways. Finish the day in the modern town of Petra for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 6 Jan 16 Wadi Rum / Lot’s Cave (overnight in Petra)
Enjoy breakfast at Wadi Rum in a Bedouin tent and experience the Wadi while enjoying a Jeep 4x4 ride. Drive to visit Lot's Cave (Genesis 19). Here Lot and his daughters are said to have sought refuge after the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Return to your hotel for dinners and overnight.
Day 7 Jan 17 Petra (Overnight in Amman)
Explore the city of Petra. Its entrance passes through a long, narrow gorge known as the Siq and can only be accessed by carriage, horseback or on foot. Once inside the city, marvel at the intricate detail of a city that was cut into the cliff sides of rose-colored rock. (B, D)
Day 8 Jan 18 Return to USA (or Transfer to Israel)
Return home or transfer to Israel.

January 18 - Cross into Israel and meet up with the Holy Land FAM Tour Cross the Allenby Bridge and travel up to Jerusalem. You’ll meet up with the Holy Land FAM group at the hotel for dinner and overnight. (D)
January 19 - Bethlehem View 3,000 years of history from the Haas Promenade. Travel to Bethlehem, where you will touch the place where it is traditionally believed Christ was born. Stand among the ancient mosaics in the Church of the Nativity. Time permitting, visit the Bethlehem Bible College and meet Christians who descend from the firstcentury Christians and who are the living embodiment of our heritage in the land today. Then, visit the Walled Off Hotel, where you will learn about the separation wall and view the museum, including renowned works of art by the graffiti artist, Banksy. This evening, enjoy dinner with a local Arab Christian family. (B, D)
January 20 - Jerusalem - Old City Visit the 2nd Temple Model of Jerusalem. Say a prayer at the Western Wall. View the Temple Mount and its excavations. Visit the Davidson Center for a tour of the Temple in Jesus’ day. Stand on the Teaching Steps where Jesus once taught his disciples at the Temple. Walk through the new excavations of Ophel, the Jebusite City conquered by David. The group will join in a communion service in the Garden Tomb. (B, D)
January 21 - Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives Visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem. Stand atop the Mount of Olives and view both Jerusalem and the Kidron Valley. Walk the Palm Sunday Path to the Dominus Flevit Chapel, where Jesus wept over the city. Continue your walk along the Palm Sunday Path to the Garden of Gethsemane. Travel to the Baptismal Site at Qasr el Yahud, the traditional site of the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. (B, D)
January 22 - Jerusalem Old City, Jericho, Qumran Walk the Via Dolorosa, which marks Christ’s path to the cross. Sing at St. Anne’s Crusader Church and visit the Chapel of Flagellation. Stop at Herod’s Antonia Fortress, where Jesus stood silent. Light a candle in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, stations 10-13, the traditional site of Jesus’ death. Visit Qumran to view the caves and the remains of the Essene community. Journey to Jericho, one of the oldest cities in the world, layered with history since the eighth millennium BC before returning to Jerusalem. (B, D)
January 23 - The Galilee Ride a boat across the Sea of Galilee. See the remains of a boat that dates back to Jesus’ time. Share in devotions at Capernaum, where Jesus taught and worshiped. Stand on the Mount of Beatitudes. Visit nearby Tabgha, where you will be reminded of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fish when you see the fourth-century mosaic under the church altar. Time permitting, visit Magdala, once home to Mary Magdalene, and see a recently discovered first-century synagogue. Cross into Jordan and enjoy a final dinner before your transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to the USA.
January 24 - Return to the USA
