Day 3 March 5 – FATIMA
Today, you will celebrate Mass and then visit the basilica, where the three children (Lucia lived to adulthood) are interred. You will then journey to the countryside, where Mary appeared to Francisco and Jacinta Marto and their cousin Lucia dos Santos on May 13, 1917, and again from May 13 to August 13, 1917, when she appeared at Valinhos. You will see their homes nearby, where Francisco died in 1919. Jacinta died in a hospital in 1920. (B, D)
Day 4 March 6 – AVILA
Begin your day with a locally guided tour of Ávila’s rich spiritual and historical heritage. You will visit the Monastery of the Incarnation, where St. Teresa lived and had many mystical experiences; the Cathedral of Ávila, integrated into the city’s ancient walls; and the Convent of St. Teresa, built on the site of her childhood home. Mass will be celebrated at a local church or chapel, to be confirmed. Check into your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 5 March 7 – TO LOURDES
This morning, travel to Burgos, where we will pass through the Arco de Santa Maria, an ornate gateway through the old city walls built to honor Charles V. Visit the Gothic Cathedral, which began in 1221 and celebrate Mass here. This is a pilgrimage church on the Camino de Santiago—next, journey through the Pyrenees to Lourdes. Here, Mary appeared to Bernadette Soubirous 18 times in 1858. It has become a place of pilgrimage for millions of the faithful each year, and the spring water from the grotto is believed to have healing properties. While in Lourdes, you will have the opportunity to participate in the afternoon and evening candlelight processions. Check into your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, D)

Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
