Day 2 Day 2 - Philadelphia
Your historical journey begins at The Museum of the American Revolution. Here, the Revolution comes to life through unique high-tech galleries, theaters, and recreations of historical scenes. It gives perspective from Boston, the opening shots of the War to Independence Hall, the signing of the Declaration to Williamsburg, and the final conflict. You will visit Independence Hall, perhaps America's most historically significant building. Here in the Assembly Room, on July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was adopted, and 11 years later, in 1787, the U.S. Constitution was ratified. Throughout this day, you will visit the many other buildings preserved from our Constitutional past, including The Liberty Bell, Christ Church and Burial Ground, The Betsy Ross House, and more. Arriving in Penn Dutch country this afternoon, your group will check into a comfortable first-class hotel. Enjoy dinner at the Shady Maple Restaurant tonight. (B, D)
Day 3 Day 3 - Buggy Ride & Kitchen Kettle Village
This morning, after breakfast, enjoy an authentic Buggy Ride through Amish Farmland. Along the back country roads, you’ll see the Amish growing their crops, such as corn and alfalfa. Some Amish farms have remained in the Amish families for hundreds of years, dating back to when the Amish came to the New World in the 1700s. If the Amish country roadside stand is open, your driver will stop for you to purchase some goodies. Your buggy will also pull into a private Amish home, and the Amish girls will come out with a tray of goodies, such as homemade lemonade and root beer. Your tour is followed by free time at Kitchen Kettle Village, which has over 40 specialty shops and restaurants and plenty of hands-on activities, including a self-guided tasting tour in the Jam & Relish Kitchen. Tonight, enjoy an Amish home dinner with a local family.
Day 4 Day 4 - Hershey Trolley Tour & AACA Museum
Join your conductor on an in-depth sightseeing and chocolate-tasting journey throughout Hershey's today and years past. As you learn about the life of Milton Hershey, you'll visit all the historical sites in the town he created, from his birthplace and the original Hershey’s Chocolate factory to the famous Hershey’s KISSES streetlights and his historic home, Highpoint Mansion. During your ride, sample the flavors that made Mr. Hershey famous, too! After lunch, enjoy a visit to one of the top car museums in the world. Today, the AACA Museum at Hershey displays vintage automobiles in unique settings. Visitors stroll through eight decades while traveling from New York to San Francisco. It’s a trip down “memory lane” as iconic settings reveal vehicles from generations of American motoring. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant this evening.
