Day 1 October 30 – Depart the USA / Arrival Day

We depart the USA on our direct flight to Mexico City. Upon arrival, we meet our tour escort and board our motor coach for the scenic drive to Tlaxcala. After checking in at our hotel, we gather for a welcome dinner and overnight in Tlaxcala. (D)

Day 2 October 31 – Tlaxcala / Puebla / Ocotlán / Tlaxcala

Our day begins in Puebla, one of Mexico’s oldest colonial cities and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains and volcanoes, Puebla is home to impressive colonial architecture. We visit the Church of Santo Domingo, famous for its baroque Rosary Chapel adorned in gold, followed by the magnificent Cathedral. Next, we stop at the Church of San Francisco, where we venerate the incorrupt body of Blessed Sebastián of Aparicio. After a group luncheon, we travel to Ocotlán to visit the Shrine and Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ocotlán, where Our Lady appeared to Juan Diego Bernardino in 1541. We then return to Tlaxcala, where the evening is free to explore and enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine on your own at a restaurant of your choice. Overnight in Tlaxcala. (B, L)

Day 3 November 1 – Tlaxcala

This morning we visit San Miguel del Milagro, the site of St. Michael the Archangel’s miraculous apparition to Diego Lázaro in 1631. We also visit the well of curative waters associated with this miracle. After lunch, we join in the local celebrations of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), experiencing firsthand the traditions that honor departed loved ones. The evening is free for dinner on your own at one of Tlaxcala’s excellent restaurants. Overnight in Tlaxcala. (B, L)

Day 4 November 2 – Tlaxcala / San Juan Teotihuacán / Mexico City

We depart for San Juan Teotihuacán, home to the impressive Pyramids of the Sun and Moon and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl. These pre-Aztec ruins, often referred to as “the Egypt of the New World,” showcase the grandeur of ancient Mexico. After lunch, we enjoy a special demonstration about the maguey (century plant), historically used to make cloth, rope, soap, and the traditional drink pulque. Continuing into Mexico City, we stop at the Plaza of the Three Cultures, where Aztec ruins, a colonial church, and modern buildings illustrate the city’s layered history. Dinner and overnight in Mexico City. (B, L, D)

Day 5 November 3 – Mexico City / Cuautitlán / Tulpetlac / Mexico City

This morning, we celebrate Mass at Tulpetlac, one of Mexico’s oldest churches and the site of the Fifth Apparition. Here, Our Lady appeared to heal Juan Diego’s uncle. Pilgrims to Tulpetlac may receive a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions. We then continue to Cuautitlán, birthplace of St. Juan Diego, before stopping for lunch. Our day also includes a visit to Los Remedios in the northwest suburbs of Mexico City. Dinner is on your own this evening, with time to enjoy the city’s many culinary delights. Overnight in Mexico City. (B, L)

Day 6 November 4 – Mexico City

Today, we spend the day at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We will celebrate Mass at the Basilica and prayerfully reflect on the miraculous image of Our Lady imprinted on St. Juan Diego’s tilma. We visit the old Basilica, the Church of the Well, the Monument of the Offerings, and Tepeyac Hill, before having free time to shop for religious items and keepsakes. The afternoon is free to explore independently. Dinner and overnight in Mexico City. (B, D)

Day 7 November 5 – Mexico City / Xochimilco / Mexico City

Our day begins with a visit to Holy Family Church, home to the shrine of Blessed Miguel Pro, the Jesuit martyr. In the afternoon, we experience the colorful canals of Xochimilco aboard festive gondolas. As we glide past floating gardens, we enjoy a boxed lunch, music, and a lively atmosphere. This evening, we gather for a farewell dinner and spend the night in Mexico City. (B, L, D)
