Day 2 March 15 – ARRIVAL

Welcome to Israel! Upon arrival in Tel Aviv you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel for a briefing, dinner, introductions and a good night’s rest.

Day 3 March 16 – JERUSALEM

We check out of our hotel and drive to Jerusalem.  Visit Yad Vashem, the national holocaust memorial and museum. Reflect on the agony of the cross at Gordon’s Calvary and celebrate the joy of the resurrection at the Garden Tomb.  Visit the Race Expo before checking into our Jerusalem hotel and prepare for tomorrow’s event - Run for Zion! This evening, we will have inspirational speakers along with a pre-race pasta dinner and then a good night’s rest.  Big day tomorrow!

Day 4 March 17 – RUN FOR ZION  in JERUSALEM

Have an early breakfast and then have easy access to the starting point of the marathon.  People from all over the world will be involved in this amazing event, blessing Israel with every step.  After completing the course, the afternoon is at leisure. Return to the hotel to welcome the Sabbath.  Enjoy a traditional Shabbat dinner and Bible study at the hotel.

Day 5 March 18 – MASADA, DEAD SEA, and JORDAN RIVER (Q’SAR el YAHUD)

Travel south to Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress of Herod the Great, famous as the last stronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans from 70-73 AD. Take the cable car to the top and peer down at the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below.  Then, visit the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth and have the opportunity to float in the salt and mineral laden waters.  Finally, visit the Jordan River, Q’sar el Yahud where the Jordan River flows into the Dead Sea for a baptismal service before returning to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.  The evening is free to explore Jerusalem.

Day 6 March 19 – JERUSALEM (OLD CITY)

Worship together followed by a visit to the Davidson’s Center where 2,000 years of history have been uncovered in its excavations.  The southern steps lead into the Temple compound from the southern entrance and undoubtedly were used by Jesus during HIs visits to Jerusalem.  You will also have an opportunity to pray at the Western Wall before exploring the Old City, including the Jewish and Christian Quarters.  See shops using locations that date back to the Roman era, and view lifestyles that have been preserved for centuries.  Follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, another possible location of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.  Tonight is the gala farewell dinner with speaker at the hotel and preparation for our return flight home.

Day 7 March 20 – RETURN

Participants departing will head to the airport with memories to last a lifetime!  Those extending will depart for their destinations.
