Day 1 October 24
Depart the US-Overnight flight to Tel Aviv
Day 2 October 25 Welcome to Israel!
Arrival at Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport. Once through passport control, you will be escorted to your transfer vehicle for transfer to your hotel in Tel Aviv on the shores of the Mediterranean. Dinner and overnight at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Tel Aviv.
Day 3 October 26
Breakfast at hotel. City tour of Tel Aviv and Jaffa. Walk from your hotel along the seaside promenade of the Mediterranean Sea to the ancient Biblical port city of Jaffa, with cobbled streets and artists’ galleries. Jaffa is the city Jonah fled from, where Peter raised Tabitha from the dead and had the vision of the white sheet. Visit St. Peter’s Church. See the “Jaffa Tales” a multi-sensory experience. Tour the archaeological site; walk on the floating bridge into a virtual performance that brings past heroes to life. Continue on to Tel Aviv for a tour of to see some of the sights of this historic city. Dinner and Overnight at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Tel Aviv
Day 4 October 27
Breakfast at hotel Depart Tel Aviv and drive north along the Mediterranean coast to Caesarea (where Cornelius and his family became believers) to visit the Crusader Fortress built upon the ancient city of Caesarea, named after Augustus Caesar. View excavations from Roman, Byzantine and Crusader periods, and view the multimedia show. Proceed through a Druze village to Mount Carmel where Elijah issued his challenge to the False Prophets of Baal. Drive through the Jezreel Valley to Megiddo -- ancient Armageddon – a strategic fortress-city. View the remains of thirty cities built one on top of the other. Continue through the Galilee Mountains to Tiberias, on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, then on to the Mount of Beatitudes, the site of the Sermon of the Mount. Dinner and overnight at Mount Beatitudes Monastery, Galilee.
Day 5 October 28
Breakfast at the hotel Drive to Capernaum to see the ancient synagogue, site of Jesus’ Ministry. Continue to Tabgha, where 5,000 were fed by Jesus when He performed the miracle of the multiplication of fish and loaves. Enjoy a boat trip and time of worship on the Sea of Galilee. Then drive along shores of the Sea of Galilee to visit Magdala, the home of Mary Magdalene, with ruins of the first century and a new church built on the site. Continue via Cana of Galilee (Wedding Feast) to Nazareth, boyhood town of Jesus, to visit the Church of Annunciation, Mary's Well and St. Joseph's workshop. End the day at the Yardenit Baptismal site, where you will have the opportunity to be baptized in the Jordan River! Dinner and overnight at the Leonardo Plaza, Tiberias.
Day 6 October 29
Breakfast at hotel. Drive north through the Hula Valley to the Banias, one of the largest springs feeding the Jordan River to view its waterfall and visit the archeological site. There is no record of Jesus entering the city, but the great confession and the transfiguration both occurred in the vicinity of the city (Matt 16:13), then known as Caesarea Philippi. Continue to the Dan Nature Reserve, one of the three sources of the Jordan River, for a visit and short hike. At the ruins of Tel Dan, see the altar built by King Jeroboam I (1 Kings 12:25-30). Drive to the Golan Heights and up Mount Bental, for view of the surrounding area. Dinner and overnight at the Leonardo Plaza, Tiberias.
Day 7 October 30
Breakfast at hotel. Depart the Galilee and drive south past Kibbutz Degania, the first kibbutz established in 1910 by Jewish Zionist pioneers. Proceed to the ancient city of Beit She´an – one of the Roman Decapolis cities - with extensive on-going excavations. Continue south along the Jordan River Valley – past Jericho and up through the Judean Wilderness to Bethlehem. Gaze out over Shepherd’s Field and visit the Church of the Nativity built above the place believed to be where Jesus was born. Stop on Mount Scopus for a panoramic view of Jerusalem and "Sheheheyanu" traditional blessing. Dinner and Overnight at the Eyal Hotel, Jerusalem
Day 8 October 31
Breakfast at hotel. Start the day on the Mount of Olives with a breathtaking view of the New and Old City. Walk the Palm Sunday Way to the Garden of Gethsemene and the Church of All Nations. Continue to the Western Wall - Judaism’s holiest site and tour the Western Wall Tunnels. Go up to the Temple Mount with the Dome of the Rock and El Aqsa Mosques. Continue to St. Anne’s Church and the Pools of Bethesda. Proceed to Mount Zion to visit the Room of Last Supper, King David’s traditional tomb, Caiphus House and Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu. Dinner and overnight at the Eyal Hotel, Jerusalem
Day 9 November 1
Breakfast at hotel. Drive down to the Dead Sea -- lowest point on earth, along its shores , to the fortress Masada - a World Heritage Site and the last stronghold and stand of the zealots against Rome, on the edge of the barren Negev Desert. Ascend and descend the site by cable car or hike the Snake Path to view excavations of this famous fortress. Visit the new museum where the story of Masada comes to life, "see and feel" the story behind the archaeological finds. Enjoy an early lunch and a swim at a hotel by the Dead Sea, and experience its therapeutic qualities. Drive by Ein Gedi, David's hideout from Saul, to visit the ancient caves of Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. If time allows, we’ll drive through the city of Jericho. Dinner and overnight at the Eyal Hotel, Jerusalem
Day 10 November 2
Breakfast at hotel. Drive through the New City of Jerusalem to the Yad VaShem Holocaust Museum for a visit including the Children’s Memorial and the Avenue of the Righteous Gentiles. Visit the Israel Museum to view the Model of Jerusalem from Second Temple Period, and the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibited in the Shrine of the Book. Go back to the Old City and walk along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Continue walking to the Garden Tomb to see the place where Jesus was laid after His crucifixion and partake in Communion. Dinner and overnight at the Eyal, Jerusalem
Day 11 November 3
Breakfast at hotel Spend the day as you please! Walk the Ramparts on the walls surrounding the Old City, visit the Davidson Archeological Center and/or the City of David, visit the Mahaneh Yehuda colorful open-air market, etc.
