Daily Itinerary
Day 1 August 3 – Port Of Spain to Mexico
Depart and arrive in Mexico City. Check into your hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner. (D)
Day 2 August 4 – Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Celebrate Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Enjoy a tour of the basilica, where the Tilma of Juan Diego is located, and the grounds, including the hilltop Chapel of Tepeyac, where the history of Our Lady’s visit to Guadalupe will be related. Here, Saint Juan Diego met the Virgin Mary in December of 1531 and received the iconic image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. (B, D)
Day 3 August 5 – Teotihuacán Archaeological Zone
Travel this morning to visit San Juan Teotihuacán, the most widely known archeological zone in Mexico. Of particular interest will be the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, the oldest structures in the area, where you will enjoy a tour of the site. Afterward, you will visit Acolman, the 16th-century monastery. Stop and see Tulpetlac, the site of the Fifth Apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the home of Juan Diego’s uncle, Juan Bernardino. Celebrate Mass in Tulpetlac and then finish the day in your Mexico City hotel. (B, D)
Day 4 August 6 – Mexico City to Puebla
Travel today to the city of Puebla to check into your hotel and enjoy dinner. Visit the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and celebrate Mass here late this afternoon. (B, D)
Day 5 August 7 – Puebla
Visit the Monastery of Santo Domingo to see the Rosary Chapel and the Puebla Cathedral dedicated to the Immaculate Conception. Enjoy a leisurely walk in the Parian Market, and then visit the Artists’ Quarter and the Museum of the Mexican Revolution, before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
Day 6 August 8 – Cholula, the Great Pyramid
Enjoy breakfast and then visit the 16th-century San Gabriel Monastery in Cholula, followed by a panoramic tour of the city. Explore the baroque churches of Santa Maria Tonantzintla and San Francisco Acatepec. Visit the Archaeological Zone and Cholula Regional Museum. (B, D)
Day 7 August 9 – Puebla to Tampico
After breakfast, travel to the beachside town of Tampico. Check into your hotel and enjoy free time. (B, D)
Day 8 August 10 – Tampico
Enjoy a bus tour of Tampico today, including a visit to the Laguna del Carpintero (Crocodile and Iguana viewpoint), and view the Espacio Cultural Metropolitano, the Children’s Museum Boat, the New Municipal Market, the Plaza de Armas, the Plaza de la Libertad, the Automobile Museum, and the Canal de la Cortadura. Day 9 August 11 – Free Day in Tampico
Enjoy a free day to explore Tampico on your own, or relax at your hotel. (B, D)
Day 10 August 12 – Return to Port of Spain
