Upon arrival at Mexico City International Airport, you will be greeted by your pilgrimage director and local guide before transferring to your hotel. After settling in and receiving program orientation, the group will travel in the late afternoon to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the most visited Marian shrine in the world. There will be time for personal prayer and reflection before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight in Mexico City. (D)
Day 2 December 5: Full Day at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe
The day begins with a pilgrimage walk through the shrine grounds. You will visit the Original Chapel, built in honor of Our Lady’s apparition to St. Juan Diego; the modern Basilica where the miraculous tilma is displayed, Tepeyac Hill, and the devotional gardens and Stations of the Cross. Mass will be celebrated in one of the basilica chapels, with additional time for veneration and private devotion. In the afternoon, the group will continue to the Plaza of the Three Cultures, a unique space that reflects Mexico’s rich history with its blend of pre-Hispanic, colonial, and modern influences. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight in Mexico City. (B, D)
Day 3 December 6: Teotihuacán & Return to Guadalupe
After breakfast, the group departs for an excursion to the ancient city of Teotihuacán. Here, you will see the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, as well as the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, and reflect on how the Christian faith encountered and transformed ancient civilizations. Following guided exploration and time for reflection, the group will return to Mexico City for another visit to Our Lady of Guadalupe to spend time in prayer and thanksgiving. Dinner and overnight will be in Mexico City. (B, D)
Day 4 December 7: Catholic Treasures of Mexico City & Blessed Miguel Pro
Today begins at the Metropolitan Cathedral, located on the Zócalo, the historic heart of Mexico City. This magnificent cathedral is the largest in the Americas and a masterpiece of colonial architecture. The pilgrimage continues with visits to the Church of Santo Domingo and the ornate Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary, often called the “House of Gold.” Later, the group will stop at La Sagrada Familia Church, where you may venerate the tomb and relics of Blessed Miguel Pro, the Jesuit priest martyred in 1927 for his faith. In the afternoon, you will travel to the colorful canals of Xochimilco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and enjoy a ride through the waterways on traditional trajinera boats. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight in Mexico City. (B, D)
Day 5 December 8: Feast of the Immaculate Conception – Puebla & Cholula
On this great feast day of the Immaculate Conception, the patronal feast of many cathedrals across the world, the pilgrimage will journey to Puebla, a drive of approximately two hours. There, you will visit the majestic Puebla Cathedral, itself dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, where the group will celebrate this solemn feast with a special Mass. You will also visit the dazzling Chapel of the Rosary in the Church of Santo Domingo, a baroque masterpiece often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” The day continues in Cholula with a visit to the Great Pyramid of Cholula, the largest pyramid base in the world, crowned by the beautiful Church of Our Lady of Remedies. In the evening, the group will return to Mexico City to share a festive farewell dinner in celebration of both the feast day and the blessings of the pilgrimage. Overnight in Mexico City. (B, D)
Day 6 December 9: Departure
