Daily Itinerary

Day 1 September 14 - Travel Day – Depart for Austria

The group departs from the U.S. on an overnight transatlantic flight to Vienna. Meals and rest are provided onboard.

Day 2 September 15 - Arrival in Vienna

Upon arrival at Vienna International Airport (VIE), the group is welcomed by a local Catholic tour director and transferred to the hotel. After check-in and a short rest, the group enjoys an orientation walk through Vienna’s historic center. Mass is celebrated at St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the spiritual heart of the city. A welcome dinner is shared at a traditional Viennese restaurant. Overnight in Vienna. (D)

Day 3 September 16 - Imperial Vienna & Klosterneuburg Monastery

The morning begins with a city tour of Vienna, including stops at the Hofburg Palace, St. Peter’s Church, and the Capuchin Crypt, the final resting place of the Habsburg emperors. In the afternoon, the group visits the nearby Klosterneuburg Monastery, an active Augustinian abbey rich in art, relics, and history. Mass is celebrated in the monastery chapel. Overnight in Vienna. Day 4 September 17 - Melk Abbey & the Austrian Lake District

Departing Vienna, the group journeys west to Melk Abbey, a magnificent Baroque Benedictine monastery overlooking the Danube River. After a guided tour and prayers in the abbey church, the journey continues through Austria’s scenic Lake District. A stop is made in the village of St. Wolfgang to visit the pilgrimage church. The day concludes with arrival and hotel check-in in Salzburg. (B, L)

Day 5 September 18 - Salzburg & Maria Plain Shrine

The group begins the day with a walking tour of Salzburg, featuring the Salzburg Cathedral, the Franciscan Church, and St. Rupert’s Abbey. In the afternoon, the group travels to the Maria Plain Shrine, where Mass is celebrated in a peaceful Marian chapel with views over the city. Free time follows in Salzburg’s Old Town. (B, L)

Day 6 September 19 - Oberammergau & Arrival in Munich

Leaving Salzburg, the group crosses into Bavaria with a stop in Oberammergau, the charming village world-renowned for its Passion Play. There is time to visit the local church and browse religious woodcarvings before continuing on to Munich. After hotel check-in, the rest of the evening is free. (B, L)

Day 7 September 20 - Catholic Munich & Oktoberfest Experience

The day begins with Mass at St. Peter’s Church, followed by a walking tour of Marienplatz, Frauenkirche, and the Asamkirche. In the afternoon, the group visits the Oktoberfest fairgrounds, where they can enjoy traditional Bavarian culture, food, music, and exhibits. The evening is at leisure. (B, L)

Day 8 September 21 - Neuschwanstein Castle & Wieskirche Pilgrimage

Today includes a scenic drive into the Bavarian Alps to visit the iconic Neuschwanstein Castle, built by King Ludwig II. After the tour, the group visits the nearby Wieskirche, a stunning Rococo pilgrimage church set among green pastures. Mass is celebrated here. Back in Munich, the group gathers for a special farewell dinner at a traditional Bavarian Gasthaus. (B, D)

Day 9 September 22 - Departure from Munich

After breakfast, the group transfers to Munich for return flights to the U.S., filled with memories of grace, beauty, and celebration. (B)
