Day 1 Feb. 20 | Departure

Depart the USA on your international flight to Australia.

Day 2 Feb. 21 | Cross International Date Line

Today may seem like time traveling as you cross the international dateline, an almost straight imaginary line from the North Pole to the South. 

Day 3 Feb. 22 | Arrive in Sydney

Arrive in Sydney. Meet your guides, enjoy a half-day city tour, and then settle in to your hotel.  Overnight in Sydney

Day 4 Feb. 23 | Sydney (Leisure Day)

Laid out around a beautiful harbor, Sydney offers a spectacular level of visual appeal and novel fun. Built from bush and jungle, the city’s wild side lingers just under the surface of the commercialized hubbub. Keep an eye out for flying foxes, cockatoos, sooty owls, squirrel gliders, bandicoots, and more! Beyond the exciting animal life, there are fun restaurants, the famous opera house, a gorgeous harbor, and interesting history to explore!  Breakfast included. Overnight in Sydney.

Day 5 Feb. 24 | Flight to Alice Springs & City Tour

In the heart of Australia lies Alice Springs, a symbol of tradition, ancestry, and pioneering. As you ride through town, it will be easy to imagine how it developed over time. And as the capital of Central Australia’s Aboriginal art scene, there are museums and galleries to visit. Peer into stories and legends thousands of years old as you explore this iconic city.  Breakfast included. Overnight in Alice Springs.   

Day 6 Feb. 25 | Outback Drive & MacDonnell Ranges 

Australia’s most rugged and famous landscapes are yours today during your outback drive through the MacDonnell Ranges. These ranges travel east to west and hold craggy gorges, knotty hills, and white gum trees, all vividly displaying the handiwork of an awesome Creator. You may also glimpse interesting geological formations and Aboriginal rock carvings.  Breakfast and lunch included. Overnight in Alice Springs.   

Day 7 Feb. 26 | Red Center Drive

Watch the colors of the Earth change from browns and tans to ochre and orange on your way towards the red center of Australia. The uninterrupted sky welcomes you to a land guarded by ancient people. Gaze out over weathered rock formations and plains full of tufted brush. Contemplate a land that has gripped its inhabitants’ heartstrings for millennia while enjoying local food and watching a remarkable sunset.   Breakfast included. Overnight in Ayers Rock.

Day 8 Feb. 27 | Mutitjulu Waterhole, Cultural Center, Kata Tjuta, Sound of Silence Dinner  

The Mutitjulu Waterhole exudes an unearthly quality – still, deep water against formidable rock walls. The Aboriginal people and indigenous wildlife have relied upon this pool for millennia. Learn about the Anangu culture and the surrounding ecosystem; enjoy exhibits and park ranger presentations. Behold Kata Tjuta, domed rock formations surrounded by flat plainlands. At sunset, they glow like red-hot embers. End your day under shimmering stars during a four-hour magical dinner experience.  Breakfast and dinner included. Overnight in Ayers Rock.    

Day 9 Feb. 28 | Fly back to Sydney  

Enjoy gazing at the impressive terrain during your internal flight back to Sydney. Then either overnight in Sydney or board your international flight back home.  Breakfast included. Overnight in Sydney or fly back home.

DAY 5, Tues., Feb. 20 | Kuranda Rainforest, Tjapukai Aboriginal Park​ 
The secluded mountain escape of Kuranda Village lies surrounded by the oldest living tropical rainforest in the world. Even passage within its borders is rife with surprise. Take in its colorful culture, exquisite wildlife, and unique shopping experiences. Touted as the world’s oldest living cultural experience, Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park offers visitors a rare chance to enter the world of the Aborigine, guided by one of their own. Walk their native parklands; taste their traditional foods; hear their mystical stories.

DAY 6, Wed., Feb. 21 | Daintree Rainforest Hike, Cruise on the Daintree River​ 
Enjoy a leisurely hike in the Daintree region, known for its lush vegetation and exotic wildlife. Yellow flowering acacias, copper-colored paperbark trees, and the unusual bottle-brush orchid flourish in the tropical environment. Keep an eye out for jewel-toned fairy-wrens that nest in family groups along the path. Then glide through the heart of this UNESCO World Heritage Site during a guided river cruise.

DAY 7, Thurs., Feb. 22 | Fly to Sydney 
Fly to Sydney and meet up with the rest of your group. Get ready for sightseeing in Sydney and outback adventures!
