Daily Itinerary

Day 1 Day 1: Arrive in Montreal

Arrive in Montreal and make your way to your nearby hotel for overnight. Group Transfer included. If not arriving in time for the group transfer, you will make your own way to the hotel.

Day 2 Day 2: Montreal

Celebrate Mass at the Sanctuary of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, beautified in 1980 and the first native American to become a saint in 2012. Walk the building and grounds of Maison Saint Gabriel. Purchased by Saint Bourgeoys in 1668, this farm was a self-sufficient school outside Montreal where the sisters prepared the King’s Wards for marriage and taught the children. Visit the chapel of Notre Dame de Bon Secours (Good Hope). Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys rallied the colonists to build the first chapel here in 1655. The foundations of this chapel can be found amid other archaeological items below the present church. The view from the steeple looks out toward the Saint Lawrence River, and ships adorn the sanctuary in honor of safe passage granted to sailors. Wander one of the most beautiful churches in the world, the Basilica of Notre Dame de Montreal. Once the largest church in North America, the present church stands on the site of the original church founded in 1672. Return to your Montreal hotel for overnight.

Day 3 Day 3: Montreal - Trois-Rivieres

This morning spend time at one of the five pilgrimage shrines of Quebec - Saint Joseph’s Oratory. Here Brother Andre (now Saint Andre) built a small chapel that, through miraculous healings, came to attract people from around the world. See both his humble chapel and the Oratory that grew up on the property as the crowds increased. Celebrate Mass here in one of the chapels, and take time to pray and reflect in the votive chapel and at the Tomb of Saint Andre. This afternoon, join an initial orientation tour of the history and grounds of the Shrine of Notre Dame du Cap. Those who wish may participate in a candlelight Procession. Continue to Trois-Rivieres for overnight.

Day 4 Day 4: Notre-Dame-du-Cap - Trois-Rivieres

Spend most of the Morning at Notre-Dame-du-Cap Shrine, near the St-Lawrence River. Celebrate mass before enjoying some time at leisure. This afternoon, enjoy a short panoramic tour of the Old city of Trois-Rivières. Visit the Chapel and the Ursulines Museum. Next, take a guided visit to Becacour Church. This magnificent church built in 1803 features distinctive architecture, liturgical furniture and beautiful works of art. Return to your Trois-Rivieres hotel for overnight.

Day 5 Day 5: Trois-Rivieres - Lac Bouchette

After breakfast depart for Lac Bouchette. En route, stop for a visit to the Church of Notre Dame de la Presentation. This church is dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua and Our Lady of Lourdes. The interior is decorated with frescos of Christian and Canadian themes, created by Ozias Leduc, who began the work at 77 and dedicated his last 13 years of his life to its completion. Continue to Lac Bouchette where you will walk the way of the cross. Check into the Hermitage hotel for overnight.

Day 6 Day 6: Lac Bouchette

After breakfast, explore the Hermitage. The Hermitage of Saint Anthony at Lac Bouchette, a third of the Shrines of Quebec. This rustic setting surrounded by water and woods is idyllic for prayer and meditation. Enjoy an orientation tour of the site, begun by Father Elxear Delamarre and his nephew the strongman Victor Delamarre. The original chapel still stands, and today the grounds contain tributes to Our Lady of Lourdes, Fatima, and the Sancta Scala. Today is yours to explore, pray and reflect amongst the natural beauty and shrines of the church. Whether you walk the Way of the Cross, wander wooded paths, or climb the prayer tower, you will have opportunities to reflect and relax. Celebrate Mass here at one of the indoor or outdoor sites. Return to the Hermitage hotel for overnight.

Day 7 Day 7: Lac Bouchette to Beaupre

After breakfast, head toward Beaupre. Take a panoramic stop to see Lake St-Jean, inner sea. After lunch, celebrate Mass at Wendake Chapel Notre-Dame-de-Lorette. Here you will have the opportunity to learn about native traditions and spirituality, and better understand what faced the first missionaries. Originally built in the 1700’s, today it contains a shrine to Saint Kateri Tekakwitha. Emphasis here is on the outreach of the church to the First Nation people of Canada continues to this day. Arrive in the late afternoon for a visit to the Basilica Saint-Anne de Beaupré. Check into your Saint-Anne-de-Beaupre hotel for overnight.

Day 8 Day 8: Beaupré

This morning take a guided tour of the Basilica St-Anne-de-Beaupré. Tour the Basilica and grounds, giving you an understanding of the heritage and opportunities here. Whether you walk the Way of the Cross or climb the steps of the Sancta Scala, you will have opportunities to reflect and relax. Celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St-Anne. After lunch, visit the Albert Gilles museum. See the copper works of Albert Gilles including the doors to the Basilica of Sainte Anne du Beaupre. His museum contains 50 frames of Biblical narratives in hand wrought panels. Tonight you may choose to join in the Rosary and Candlelight Procession. Return to your Saint-Anne-de-Beaupre hotel for overnight.

Day 9 Day 9: Beaupré to Boucherville

Drive into Quebec this morning and visit the Cathedral Basilica of Notre Dame de Quebec, the second Shrine of Quebec. Here the only Holy Door outside of Europe was open for the Holy Year of Mercy in 2015. The church is the site of the oldest parish in North America north on Mexico. The original church was destroyed in the siege of Quebec in 1759. Next, take a guided city tour of Quebec. Continue to Montmorency Waterfalls. Taller than Niagara Falls, they are the highest falls in Quebec. After lunch, depart for Montreal. Dinner and overnight in Montreal.

Day 10 Day 10: Return Home

Transfer to the Montreal Airport for your return flight home.
